Montgomery County History: Montgomery County is a county in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,330. The county was named after Richard Montgomery an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775. Montgomery County was formed in 1851. The current Montgomery County Court House was opened in 1891.
