Mills County History
Established in 1851, Mills County is located in southwest Iowa and was named after Major Frederick Mills of Burlington, Iowa, who was killed during the Mexican–American War. The county seat, Glenwood, has long served as an agricultural and regional service center. As of the 2020 census, Mills County has a population of 14,484 residents.
