Adams County History: Adams County is a county in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,704. The county was named after John Adams, the sixth president of the United States of America.

Adair County was formed in 1851, from sections of Pottawattamie County. The current Adams County Court House was opened in 1955.
