Grundy County History
Grundy County was established in 1851 and is named after Felix Grundy, former U.S. Attorney General. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 12,329. Grundy County is part of the Waterloo–Cedar Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first courthouse was built in 1861, followed by a second courthouse in 1891.
