Ringgold County History
Ringgold County was established in 1847 and named after Major Samuel Ringgold, a hero of the Battle of Palo Alto during the Mexican–American War. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,663, making it one of the least populous counties in Iowa. Historical information is sourced from Wikipedia.
