Are you ready to turn acres into assets? Whitaker Marketing Group is looking for a skilled and experienced Farm Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll oversee the performance of agricultural properties, working closely with landowners, tenants, and vendors to ensure farms are productive, profitable, and sustainable.

As part of one of the Midwest’s most trusted farmland real estate and auction companies, you’ll help landowners maximize returns while protecting the legacy and value of their land for generations to come.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage day-to-day operations of row crop and specialty farms under contract with Whitaker Marketing Group.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between landowners and tenants, ensuring clear communication and aligned goals.
  • Develop and negotiate leases that reflect market conditions and landowner objectives.
  • Oversee crop planning, input decisions, and conservation practices to maintain soil health and long-term productivity.
  • Conduct regular site visits, monitor progress throughout the growing season, and document operational outcomes.
  • Provide landowners with timely financial reports, yield summaries, and operational updates.
  • Coordinate services such as soil testing, drainage improvement, fertilizer application, and custom farming.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including USDA, FSA, and NRCS programs.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). (AFM) Accredited Farm Manager designation preferred. 
  • Proven experience in farm management, crop production, or agricultural consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of Midwest farming practices, soil types, and crop input strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in farm management software, Excel, and GPS-based technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly to visit farms across the region.
  • Familiarity with government ag programs, conservation plans, and land stewardship principles.
